I have to thank Rae Sammis of Mainelyclassic (TICA Cattery name) and Coon Classic (CFA Cattery name) for allowing this lovely female to come live with Moosecoons!

Brown Classic Tabby

April 2, 2012

Her parents are:

RW SGC Mainelyclassic Night Owl

&

Willamina Shady of Mainelyclassic

I had to wait until I had some professional picture to post of her, as my amateur attempts resulted in unflattering poses as shown below:

While in my photo to the left, you can see her lovely deep chin and get a general idea of her head type, she's a squinter and always looks very annoyed at the camera <lol>  She's actually a sweet girl with lovely golden eyes, and thankfully Ellen Pons was able to capture her in a much better look!

To the right you see her wonderful clean profile and the deep square muzzle.

Koko's hobbies include lounging on the cat tree, eating and playing sparkle-ball hockey throughout the house (tho the bathtub is her favorite rink)  She's first in line when the toys come out and her hearing is amazing when it comes to opening the refrigerator!
The name Koko is from the Blackfoot tribe and means "Night", so it's a perfect homage to her very handsome father RW SGC Mainelyclassic Night Owl, a solid black boy.  Owl's father, IW SGC Mainelyclassic  Night Stalker, LA was just awarded the Lifetime Achievement award by TICA, the highest award they have!  I'm so thrilled and appreciative to have a girl from such a wonderful line of Maine Coons. You can see Rae's gorgeous cats and Koko's illustrious forebears at Mainelyclassic.

Rae knew I was looking for an outcross with a nice brown classic pattern and somehow things worked out that this girl became available - I'm so glad she thought of me!  When Rae called me with the offer, I jumped at the chance!  She is exactly what I was looking for, with heavy boning, that wonderful muzzle and profile and woo hoo those lynx tips are icing on the cake :-)

Her coloring is a little dark, which is not unusual with a solid black sire, and I think it just adds to her rich mysterious look.  Some CFA judges don't fully appreciate the "cool brown" color, but some judges do see her wonderful type nonetheless.  She shows herself off well and enjoys the playtime she gets on the judges table, so we'll just see how she does as she matures!  I'm hoping to also get her out to a few TICA shows, since it would be nice to title her there for Rae.
