"Goose"

Just to set the record straight, I did not choose this girl. She decided from very early on that she was staying here, I was her human, this was her home and there wasn't a darn thing I could do about it.

When she started getting around on her own, she followed me, she clung to me, she was like a little furry bit of velcro. In fact one of her earliest names was "Limpet" from the way she would just leap onto some body part of mine and hang there.  Then she started chasing, well, everything.... her siblings, her mother's tail, dust motes, the vacuum cleaner, pieces of food, imaginary flying things... I found myself constantly laughing at her antics and asking, "what are you doing now, little Goose"... so Goose she became and Goose she has stayed.

Guess I got lucky she turned into such a pretty girl!  She wasn't leaving.  I do love her head and that expression - she has great ears and a very pretty soft shade of blue with a nice clear classic pattern.  Yeah, I got lucky - it wasn't like a made a decision or anything ;-)

I do need to work on more pictures of her though!
Above she is just 8 months old and to the right and below she is 4 months old.

Pocahontas is one of the more common (and more pronounceable) Native American names I've ever used.  When researching names, it came up and the story just seemed to fit this little silly girl.

From Wikipedia:

At the time Pocahontas was born, it was common for Powhatan Indians to be given several personal names, to have more than one name at the same time, to have secret names that only a select few knew, and to change their names on important occasions. Bestowed at different times, the names carried different meanings and might be used in different contexts.
The name Pocahontas was a childhood nickname that probably referred to her frolicsome nature; according to the colonist William Strachey, it meant "Little Wanton".

I have read elsewhere the translation as "playful and carefree" - and that is my Goose!
